Transforming Educational Sector: Islamabad’s Initiative to Establish Cutting-Edge IT Labs in Educational Institutions

The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, in collaboration with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), is set to revolutionize Islamabad’s educational landscape by establishing sixteen advanced IT labs across educational institutions in the capital.


Spearheaded by SIFC, which serves as a conduit to attract investments from allied nations, this initiative aims to create state-of-the-art facilities, fostering a conducive environment for learning and innovation. Through a streamlined 'single-window' platform, SIFC ensures optimal facilitation and ease of doing business, underpinned by a comprehensive 'Whole of Government Approach', leveraging synergies across sectors with the support of the Pakistan Army.

These cutting-edge IT labs are poised to empower the youth with the latest skills, significantly enhancing their employability prospects. Strategically located in sixteen degree colleges across Islamabad, these labs will serve as hubs of technological prowess.


Students will have the opportunity to enroll in six-month courses covering a spectrum of contemporary disciplines including blockchain, data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and game development. These courses are meticulously designed to align with market demands, ensuring relevance and practical applicability.


In the inaugural phase, approximately 1,000 students will have access to these transformative courses. Developed in collaboration with esteemed institutions such as NUST, National Skills University, COMSATS, and NUML, the curriculum reflects the collective expertise and vision of industry leaders and academia.

Scheduled to commence in the second week of this month, these courses have already garnered significant interest, with over 3,600 students registering to embark on this journey of knowledge and skill acquisition.


As Islamabad takes strides towards becoming a hub of innovation and excellence, these IT labs stand as a testament to the nation's commitment to equipping its youth with the tools they need to thrive in the digital era.
