Importance of Free and Fair Elections in Pakistan

Enhancing Electoral Integrity: The Crucial Role of Political Parties in Ensuring Free and Transparent Elections

Pakistan People's Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the Chief Election Commissioner and demanded to ensure transparent elections in the country.

For effective transparency, all stakeholders and parties must prioritize fulfilling their national responsibility and adhere to democratic principles, ensuring Free, Fair and transparent elections.

The chairman of People's Party expressed these views on the day after Asif Ali Zardari expressed his confidence in Free and Fair elections and the Election Commission.

There is no doubt that the solution to the country's problems lies in sustainable democracy and electoral transparency. Asif Ali Zardari's trust is in place, but the concerns of the young Chairman of the Party should not be completely ignored.

The emphasis on ensuring transparency in elections by the leader of one of the major political parties of the country is not without reason.

If we look at the electoral history of the country, the demand to ensure transparency seems to be futile. However, the political parties must know that it is not enough to question only the government institutions for electoral transparency.

Political parties play a crucial role in ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections. Their commitment is vital for a satisfactory electoral process.

Challenges arise when parties contribute to mismanagement. To enhance transparency, parties must introspect and seek consensus on reform initiatives. Without internal alignment, achieving transparency in elections remains uncertain despite organizers' efforts.

The 8th February General elections offer political parties a chance to steer the country towards true democracy.

Shifting focus to manifesto-driven politics is crucial for lasting change. Despite nearly twenty days passing since the election announcement, no party has released a manifesto.

Rallies are ongoing, yet voters remain uninformed about each party's plans for national improvement. Past elections show manifestos often go unfulfilled. For effective transparency, all stakeholders and parties must prioritize fulfilling their national responsibility and adhere to democratic principles, ensuring Free, Fair and transparent elections.
